China Triples e-CNY Bank Network From 10 to 30 in 2026
The PBOC announced on Aug. 17, 2026 that the e-CNY operator network expanded to 30 banks after adding eight. The network had grown from 10 banks previously to 22 on Apr. 2. New rules also allow the e-CNY to accrue interest.
