Aztec upgraded its decentralized Ethereum layer-2 to V5 in alpha, adding a full private execution environment that lets a single contract mix public and encrypted state. The team said private transactions now prove in about 2.5 seconds on a laptop, fees fall below $0.05 and block times drop from 14 seconds to six.
