Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said he is reviewing UTXO-style concepts, including Utreexo which he credited to Bitcoin developers, for a next-generation scaling architecture. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson reacted publicly with a GIF of himself covering his face and laughing, as Cardano has long used an extended UTXO (EUTXO) model for smart contracts. Some in the Cardano camp say Ethereum's new design direction resembles a design they have long pursued.
